Prerana, a national-level NGO established in 1998, is dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the rights of women, the poor, people with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. Currently, the organization operates in Madhesh, Bagmati Lumbini and Karnali Provinces of Nepal through partnerships with national and international NGOs, as well as local, provincial, and federal governments, and other key stakeholders. The organization is now seeking experienced and qualified candidates for the following positions.
1. MEAL Officer – 1 (one)
Key responsibilities: The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer will be primarily responsible to monitoring the field level implementing activities under the Sikai+ project in Rautahat district, ensure proper documentation of learnings, data and support Disability & Inclusion Coordinator for the successful implementation of the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) funded SIKAI PLUS project in partnership with World Vision International Nepal. Additionally, the officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate and well-organized documentation of learnings, data, and other relevant information.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the quality of implemented activities as outlined in the Quality Benchmark (QBM) and Implementation Guideline (IG). The MEAL Officer will also play a critical role in supporting the program team through data collection, analysis, reporting, and documentation. The MEAL officer will also collaborate and work as a team with consortium partners for planning and implementation.
Requirements: Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, social science, development studies and statistics preferable or any related field from the recognized university. The candidate must have over 3 years of experience in MEAL related task, community development and working with children or people with disabilities and their families/caregivers with a willingness to travel and spend time in project districts and community areas. Effective collaboration with partners, financial management skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential.
2. Disability Resource Person (Mobile Teacher) - 4 (Four)
Key responsibilities: The Disability Resource Person (DRP)-Mobile Teachers will be based in the community and will work with the organization of People with Disability (OPDs), Disability Coordination Committee (DCC), Student Assessment Technical Assessment Committee (SATC), Schools and parents or caregivers of Children with disability of Madhavnarayan and Garuda Municipality. The role requires integration with inclusive education, GEDSI and protection and also with the other like-minded organizations to achieve broader and more effective impacts. The position requires routine travel around households/families of Children with Disabilities, communities, concerned schools, to provide technical support/guidance in their assigned caseload, and their teachers, caretakers/parents
Requirements: Applicants should be hold a Minimum bachelor's degree in education, social development or any relevant field from a recognized university, with at least 2 years’ experience of working with children or people with disabilities and their families/caregivers. Experience of working in the field of Inclusive Education or teaching children with disabilities or a related field. Applicants must be able to travel and spend time in project coverages local bodies and community areas.
Position 1(MEAL Officer) is based in the project office in Chandrapur, Rautahat and position 2 (Disability Resource Person) is based in the project implementing municipalities of Rautahat. Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the organization's policies. The contract duration is one year, with the possibility of annual renewal for up to five years, contingent on the project's duration.
