Recruitment: National. Preference to candidates from or based in Surkhet, no relocation or living allowances provided.

Reporting to: Office Secretary/ Store Manager/Accountant
Job Description:
The Local Adaptation to Climate Change (LACC) Project supports land use planning and management, integrated water and forest resources management, environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction in Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces. The Office Assistant cum Messenger plays an important role in ensuring efficient office operations by supporting PSU in office tasks, maintenance work and logistical arrangements.
The Office Assistant cum Messenger is a long-term position responsible for administrative, office assistant and maintenance support. The role also ensures systematic filing, records management, and confidentiality while maintaining smooth day-to-day operations of the PSU. This position offers an opportunity for young professionals to gain experience in office administration within an international development project while contributing to climate resilience efforts in Nepal.

Academic Qualification: Minimum 8th grade Education passed
Languages: Fluent speaking and writing skill in Nepali, basic English skills
Experience and Skills:
- At least one-year experience in Office assistance & Messenger
- Motorcycle/Scooter driving license
- Good working knowledge of logistics, office equipment, cleaning and gardening
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail and learning attitude
- Basic IT skills
Key duties:
- Repair and maintain basic office building utilities, ensuring electricity and plumbing systems function properly
- Ensure the office generator is in good working condition, regularly checking fuel, coolant, lubricants and service requirements. Maintain generator and regularly update the generator logbook
- Support the account section by photocopying, binding and processing bills; translate bills into English and paste them into white paper with glue stick and maintain confidentiality
- Pay electricity, drinking water and telephone bills, visit the, Bank, IRO and other offices for official works in close coordination with the accountant and office secretary
- Supervise the outsourced office Cleaner and maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the office compound, inside and outside of the office building
- Take care of indoor gardening, including watering flowers and plants with the support of guards
- Support the Store Manager and Office Secretary in photocopying, binding and filing official documents, correspondence letters and reports
- Support the Office Secretary in collecting and distributing official documents from internal team and outsiders
- Support Store Manager in managing the office inventory system, collecting and dispatching goods and obtaining quotations from the markets/vendors
- Support loading and unloading of office equipment/ materials from the vehicles.
Assist in the organizing of training events, workshops and meetings
Any other tasks assigned by the Management to achieve goal and objectives of Project relevant to his/her competency
