Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research, and Development (LI-BIRD) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in October 1995 with its Head Office in Pokhara and Programme Coordination Office in Lalitpur. LI-BIRD is implementing a project entitled ‘SARATHI: Empowering Communities for Sustainable Change in Resilience, Adaptation, and Inclusion in Nepal’ with financial support from Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), United Kingdom led by People in Need (PIN) and Dan Church Aid (DCA) from February 2025 to December 2029 in Madhesh, Lumbini and Karnali Provinces. SARATHI aims to strengthen the early action and climate resilience of the British Embassy Kathmandu (BEK’s) Resilience, Adaptation, and Inclusion in Nepal (RAIN) program for scaling up support for vulnerable and marginalized communities at risk of multi-hazards in Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces by 2029.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Officer (Level 8): 1, (Janakpur)

Job Summary: Reporting to the Team Leader, MEAL Officer will be primarily responsible to ensure MEAL component for the project while contributing for the effective development and implementation of the project’s MEAL strategy for achieving project outputs and outcomes in close coordination with consortium partners and cross-fertilizing learning generated by the project with key stakeholders. The MEAL Officer duties also include supporting project staff and sub-grantees for effective data recording, compilation, preparing report based on data analysis and key results from the project interventions and generating consolidated M&E data.

Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Statistics, Forestry, Natural Resource Management or related field with 3 years of work experience in MEAL sector.
