LOCATION: USAID Agricultural Inputs Office: Nepalgunj and Bharatpur, Chitwan.
REPORTS TO: Regional Admin, Logistics and Finance Officer (Nepalgunj) / Grants, Accounts & MEL Associate (Bharatpur)
BACKGROUND
USAID Agricultural Inputs is a five-year USAID-funded Feed the Future (FTF) activity in Nepal which commenced in June 2023. The aim of USAID Agricultural Inputs is to increase the availability, accessibility, and use of agricultural inputs and technology to improve Nepal’s agricultural productivity. The Activity is implemented by Winrock International in collaboration with five organizations: Center for Environmental and Agricultural Policy, Research, Extension and Development (CEAPRED), MarketShare Associates (MSA), Pathway Technology, Fertilizer Association Nepal (FAN), and Vikara Institute.
USAID Agricultural Inputs will enable lead firms, agrovets, input suppliers, local machinery service providers, and Government of Nepal (GON) change agents and farmers to increase productivity, input supply chain efficiency, market system competitiveness, and strengthen the enabling environment in a way that equitably addresses the needs of women, youth, and members of marginalized groups. USAID Agricultural Inputs will benefit 200,000 farmers in the USAID Feed the Future (FTF) zone of influence.
POSITION SUMMARY
The main objective of this position is to support efficient project operations by assisting with administrative and logistic tasks, and also on selected finance functions through active involvement with the Administrative and the Finance Team while gaining practical experience in these areas.
AREA OF LEARNING AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide logistic support to regional and district teams during meetings, visits, workshops, training etc.
- Assist in photocopying, printing and scanning of documents.
- Assist in filing the documents.
- Assist in collecting and recording bills and other supporting documents from vendors.
- Assist in maintaining a copy of supporting documents in Journal Voucher.
- Assist to prepare & update vehicle/motorcycle repair & maintenance tracker sheet in computerized system and assist in maintaining/updating filing of vehicle repair & maintenance record.
- Assist in inventory management of office stationery, office supplies items, etc.
- Assist in assets management.
- Support in collection of time sheets and maintenance of leave records of staff.
- Assist in processing staff medical insurance claims, and other related documents.
- Support drivers for timely settlement of their travel and fuel advance.
- Assist in Tax/TDS deposit and banking related tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or as initiated by the Trainee.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in management, administration, or relevant field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills both in English and Nepali.
- Computer literacy, including basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail & internet.
- Some work experience in the areas mentioned above will be an added advantage.
- A valid license holder for two-wheelers is preferrable.
