Program Officer (Gender)
Location: Bhaktapur, Nepal
The Women Welfare Foundation (WWF) is seeking a passionate and organized Program Officer to support the implementation of projects focused on reducing child marriage and gender-based violence. This role involves working closely with the local community to raise awareness, promote gender equality, and empower women and girls.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the due diligence process, including completing forms, compiling documents, and coordinating with local partners.
- Monitor and oversee project activities to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Guide monitoring efforts by identifying and tracking project success indicators like school attendance and child marriage rates.
- Collaborate with local stakeholders to establish women’s advocacy groups and ensure community participation.
- Support the development of project plans, budgets, and progress reports.
- Promote WWF’s mission and projects through effective communication and advocacy efforts.
- Support in preparing detailed reports and recommendations for the project’s long-term success.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven experience in managing social development projects, especially in gender equality or education is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Nepali (Tharu language skills are an advantage).
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Commitment to gender equality and community empowerment.
