The Nepal National Social Welfare Association (NNSWA), established in 1990, is a leading NGO operating in the Sudurpaschim Province. It implements various multi-sectoral projects in both Sudurpaschim and Karnali Provinces of Nepal, with a strong track record in community-based development programs. NNSWA, in collaboration with World Vision International Nepal (WVI Nepal), is working in Kanchanpur District to improve the quality of education, health and hygiene, reproductive health, and the protection of the rights of children and marginalized communities, in coordination with government authorities at all levels. NNSWA and WVI Nepal is going to be implementing the Basic 4 Girls (B4G) project in Kanchanpur District starting in early January 2025. Therefore, NNSWA invites applications from qualified and committed Nepali citizens for the following positions.  

Social Mobilizer – 2 Position (Preferred Female)

Duty Station: NNSWA, Kanchanpur 

Salary and Benefits: As per organizational rules and regulations

Job Responsibility: 

  • Demonstrates commitment to the NNSWA and funding partners Nepal core values and principles 

  • Quality field level planning and coordination skills to ensure a wide variety of activities in an efficient and economic manner 

  • To communicate and orient the local government, health workers, teachers and other community stakeholders about the project objectives 

  • To manage the local level meeting, group discussion, orientation, training for the activities as per the project objective in coordination with supervisor. 

  • To coordinate the local stakeholders such as health workers, teachers, ward chairperson, ward secretariat, protection focal person, and other related stakeholders/committees at ward and community level. 

  • To collect and prepare the data as required for the project.

  • To support identifying the need for training and workshop and assist to supervisor to conduct them.

  • To submit the regular report on events, monthly, quarterly, trimester basis as per requirement to the supervisor. 

  • To perform the work as per rules and regulations of organization

  • Work prioritization, ability to multitask, and the willingness to go for other support as per the situation

  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality concerning the technical part of the project.

  • To communicate and orient the community about the objectives of the project and organization

  • To work in community mobilization under the direct supervision of the program officer

  • To manage the local level meetings, group discussion, and orientation for the activities as per the project objective in coordination with the supervisor

  • To support and manage all regular meetings, coordination meetings, and training at the field level.

  • To support health facilities, schools, ward offices to carry out adolescent sexual reproductive health (ASRH), menstrual hygiene management (MHM), comprehensive sexuality education (CSE).

  • To carry out community dialogue session on ASRH, MHM and CSE

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • + 2 level or equivalent in any academic stream.

  • At least 2 years of work experience in similar job responsibilities particularly in health and nutrition, and protection sectors. 

  • Experience of working in adolescent sexual reproductive health, comprehensive sexuality education, gender-based violence and other protection issues will be an asset

  • Good communication skills in Nepali (English will be an added advantage)

  • Ability and willingness to work in a team and to work under pressure and in any circumstances

  • Good knowledge of project location and community-Kanchanpur

  • Good communication skills both in Nepali and in local language. 

  • Ability to work with multi-cultural team of volunteers, national and international staff.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and reporting skills.

  • Local residence will be given more preference.

  • Skill of computer application words, excel, power point etc. 

  • A two-wheeler driving license will be an added advantage.

  • Ability and willingness to frequent field visits in the project area.
