KOSHISH Vacancy for MEAL Coordinator / Program Manager
KOSHISH, National Mental Health Self-Help Organization, established in 2008, is breaking the silence and amplifying voices of persons with mental health condition and psychosocial disability for inclusion of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) within and beyond the health system. KOSHISH promotes self-advocacy in the spirit of “NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US”.
We are looking for the following positions:
1. MEAL Coordinator
KOSHISH is seeking an energetic, passionate development professional for the post of MEAL coordinator. The MEAL coordinator is responsible to lead the MEAL unit and developing and implementing an annual calendar of KOSHISH’s results-based framework, which consolidates all ongoing projects and aligns them with organizational strategy of KOSHISH. Moreover, MEAL Coordinator must ensure that each project upholds high quality standards and is implemented promptly, with a focus on effective financial management and control duly respecting value of money. The time distribution is expected to be 60 percent at the central level and 40 percent in the target areas of KOSHISH.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitoring and Evaluation:
Develop/ update organizational MEAL Framework and lead the development of Management Information System in line with organizational strategy.
Develop and update the M&E framework of all projects and align it with MIS ensuring the integration of organizational strategies into projects.
Carry out orientation and provide support to project teams on collection of data, maintaining database, analysis, and reporting.
Support project team in ensuring timely submission and quality of periodic reports.
Support in quality documentation, capture evidence, lessons learnt, good practices and case stories/ human interest stories of ongoing programs and projects.
Work closely with program team to ensure that project-based learnings and monitoring/evaluation results are regularly used and reflected.
Data collection, collation, storage, analysis, tracking and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis against performance indicators.
Develop the organizational strategy indicators progress tracking mechanism and update the progress in alignment with all projects.
Assist project teams to understand the concept of KOSHISH’s organizational strategy and facilitate incorporating the ideas into project monitoring, evaluation, database management.
Accountability:
Conduct monitoring visits to projects sites and facilitate in ensuring quality delivery of services as per the expected results.
Ensure periodic reviews of all projects are carried out within the standards based on result-based indicators that align with baseline and periodic targets.
Establish cordial communication and collaboration with concerned stakeholders both inside the country and outside including the government agencies.
Assessment, study, and research:
Prepare/update the assessment/research plan of all projects and the organization.
Facilitate the recruitment of external experts when necessary for assessment or study purposes and ensure the quality of their work.
Qualifications & Essential Qualities:
Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Development Studies, Social Work, Research or equivalent.
At least 5 years’ work experience in the relevant field of monitoring and evaluation, program development, project management, and/ or research work.
Good understanding about data management and passionate about mental health and psychosocial disability issues.
Demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and prepare reports.
Excellent writing skill in English and Nepali languages.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Excellent teamwork.
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
2. Program Manager
KOSHISH is seeking an energetic, passionate development professional for the post of Program Manager with proven experience of working at the Managerial level. The Program Manager shall be responsible for the effective and quality implementation of existing projects of KOSHISH in collaboration with Admin/Human resource/Finance and MEAL. The manager will also be responsible for prioritizing the Organizational Development. The manager will need to travel to the project locations of KOSHISH at least 40% of time and the remaining time will be based in central office.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Effective Management
Ensure that all staff under the supervision have a clear understanding of their individual roles and responsibilities.
Conduct annual performance planning, mid-year review and end year appraisal of staff under supervision in the Performance Planning and Appraisal Report (PPAR).
Support and mentor project staff in monthly planning and target-oriented reporting.
Ensure cost efficiency and value for money in all organizational expenditures.
Technical Support and Capacity Building
Guide, mentor, and supervise project coordinators and project officers to ensure high-quality project implementation and effectiveness.
Ensure staff capacity development needs and development plan are identified and reflected in the staff's performance plans and timely implemented.
Provide technical guidance on the development of communication and behavior change materials, including mass media communication.
Lead the team in developing training manuals and guidelines as per organizational needs.
Project Development and Coordination
Lead the planning and implementation of existing projects, including developing plans and conducting periodic monitoring and evaluations.
Review and ensure the quality control of all the project reports before submission
Lead program development in close collaboration with the fundraising team.
Identify potential funding partners and consortium partners to expand project funding
Develop project proposals, briefing notes and background documents as required.
Organizational Development and Advocacy
Implement, and harmonize the organizational strategy and Theory of Change (TOC) across KOSHISH.
Develop, amend, and implement policies and guidelines to facilitate smooth operations in collaboration with the team.
Represent the organization at national and international forums to promote its mission and visibility.
Ensure organizational visibility through promotional activities and media relation.
QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL QUALITIES
Master’s degree in social work, international relations, law, or any other related field
Proven Experience at the Senior officer level of a minimum of 7 years or Managerial level of a Minimum of 3 years. Candidate who has background in Mental Health is preferred
Excellent understanding of project management cycle including proposal development, implementation, and monitoring
Good understanding of human rights-based approach, and legal framework of Nepal and familiarity with core International Human Rights Treaties ratified by Nepal
Good understanding and/or experience of working in inclusion, the life transformation of vulnerable communities
Willingness to have frequent field visits as per the need (40% in the field and 60% at the central level)
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation & public relation skills in both English and Nepali and leadership skills
Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure independently as well as in a team to bring tangible results
Empathetic, Energetic with a receptive learning attitude.
