Communications Officer
Position Overview:
The Communication Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing communication plans that align with the goals and objectives of both the trading and programmatic divisions. This role requires a strategic communicator who can effectively convey the organization’s messages, enhance its brand image, and engage stakeholders across different sectors.
Social Media Management:
- Develop Social Media Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase brand awareness, drive engagement, and support organizational goals.
- Content Scheduling and Posting: Manage the content calendar, schedule posts, and ensure timely and consistent social media updates.
- Engagement and Community Building: Foster an online community by engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and encouraging user-generated content.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track social media metrics, prepare performance reports, and use data to optimize strategies and content and prepare a monthly report
Website Management and SEO:
- Website Content Management: Oversee the creation, updating, and management of content on the CREASION website to ensure it is current, accurate, and engaging.
- SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to improve search engine rankings, increase organic traffic, and enhance user experience.
- Website Analytics: Monitor website traffic and user behavior using tools prepare reports and use data to optimize content and site performance and prepare a monthly report
Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and Produce High-Quality Content: Write, edit, and produce engaging content for various platforms including press releases, newsletters, blogs, social media, website content, and annual reports as per the different themes.
- Storytelling: Identify and develop compelling stories that highlight CREASION’s impact and initiatives, ensuring alignment with our brand voice and mission.
- Multimedia Integration: Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and photographers to create multimedia content that enhances our storytelling efforts.
Media Relations:
- Build and Maintain Media Relationships: Establish and nurture relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers to secure media coverage and build CREASION’s profile.
- Press Releases and Media Kits: Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote events, campaigns, and organizational achievements.
- Monitor and Report Media Coverage: Track and analyze media coverage, prepare reports, and leverage insights to refine media strategies.
Brand Management:
- Consistency in Messaging: Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels, maintaining the integrity and voice of the CREASION brand.
Brand Materials:
- Develop and update brand materials such as brochures, merchandise, presentations, and promotional items. Also, ensure the same in the office premises.
Event Promotion:
- Strategic Promotion Plans: Develop and execute communication plans for events, campaigns, and special projects to maximize attendance and participation.
- Event Coverage: Provide live coverage of events through social media, photography, and post-
event reporting.
Internal Communications:
- Staff Communication: Support internal communication efforts by creating and distributing staff newsletters, announcements, and updates to keep the team informed and engaged.
- Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to gather and disseminate relevant information.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partnership Communication: Collaborate with partners, donors, and stakeholders to align communication efforts with organizational goals and enhance collaborative efforts.
- Advocacy and Outreach: Support advocacy initiatives by developing communication materials and strategies to influence public opinion and policy.
Team Management:
- Lead the Communications Team: Manage the communications team, including Communications Officers, Graphic Designers, and Media Consultants.
- Mentorship and Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members.
- Task Delegation: Assign tasks and projects to team members based on their strengths and workload capacity.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any other tasks as instructed by the Supervisor as needed.
Required Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, media management, Journalism or related field
- Language fluency in Nepali and English
- Strong base in report writing (both English and Nepali)
- Proven Media Engagement and Event Management Experience
- Proven experience in developing case stories, photography, videography, testimonials, and research
- At least 2 years of experience in INGO/NGOs
- Familiarity with graphic design software is a plus
Contract Duration:
- 2 Years, with potential for extension based on performance and funding.
