Sabal Nepal Vacancy for Program Coordinator
Sabal Nepal, a non-profit social development organization in Nepal, is currently implementing the USAID Civil Society and Media (CSM) Program, led by The Asia Foundation as the main implementer. In partnership with The Asia Foundation-supported project titled "Enhancing the Musahar community’s participation in local governance processes" in Siraha, Madhesh Province, we invite applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens aged between 18 and 40 for the following position. The positions are based in Siraha district and will be located in rural municipalities/municipalities as per the project's needs.
Position: Program Coordinator – 1:
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Master’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles within I/NGOs or government organizations, particularly in the Terai region of Nepal, focusing on Youth and Women-related projects, including project planning, implementation, and management, is essential.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent community mobilization and communication skills.
The candidate should have in-depth technical expertise and practical knowledge pertinent to the role, with a strong emphasis on GEDSI.
Advanced computer proficiency and fluency in English, Nepali, and local languages for both speaking and report writing are also required.
Prepare work plans, budgets, and procedural guidelines according to the project document.
Collect information and prepare periodic project progress reports.
Coordinate with national, province and district committees including partners for campaign and advocacy.
Coordinate and manage relationships with stakeholders.
Support in preparation of project implementation guidelines, concept notes and monitoring and reporting frameworks.
Coordinate within the organization and perform as assigned by the Executive Director.
Position: Finance and Operation Officer -1
The Finance and Operation Officer will perform daily financial and administrative activities. The Finance and Operation Officer is responsible for financial reporting, various administration, and finance activities, communicating with the funding agency, monitoring the budget, forecasting, and other project implementation-related work.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in finance management, and accounting from a recognized institute with 3 years of experience in working with I/NGOs in a similar field.
Understand Nepali and English languages.
Experience in Accounting software i.e. True Accounting Software
Prepare vouchers as per Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with follow-up organizational financial policy and proper process.
Ensure all supporting documents, account code, cost center, and activity code
Maintain petty cash and regularly verify proper cash balance by an authorized person of Origination or as per organizational policy.
Keep all backup data safely of organizational and finance-related documents
Regular tracking of bank statements and depositing the tax as per rules
Ensure the tax calculation is accurate and deducted on the source of payment as per the Income Tax Act of Nepal and deposition on a timely manner.
Preparation of Monthly Finance Report (Ledger, Voucher Details, Budget vs. expenditure, Monthly Forecast, Fund Accountability Status, VAT Details, Bank Reconciliation Statement) in reporting format and submission on reporting dateline
Purchase Goods/Services for project requirements by following the procurement policy of the organization/ government procurement guideline or donor policy (if required) with proper process and documentation as per policy and rules.
Support on field events, provide necessary materials for events, admin and logistic support, and field visits if required.
Assist to the project team in logistic arrangements for meetings, training, workshops, visits and other projects as required.
Maintain staff personal file updates and leave records of staff.
