Peace4Dalits Foundation Nepal (P4D Nepal) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting equality and empowering marginalized Dalit communities. Our mission is to combat caste and gender-based discrimination and to advocate for the rights of communities such as Musahar, Chamar, Dusad, Dom, Tatba, Dhobi, and Halkhor. Peace 4 Dalits Foundation Nepal (P4D Nepal) is currently implementing the project titled “Community Justice and Empowerment through Cultural Initiatives” funded by the USAID Civil Society and Media (USAID CSM) program with The Asia Foundation as the lead implementer. The project activities focus on managing community engagement and ensuring the effective delivery of project objectives aimed at promoting social inclusion and cultural heritage. Eligible candidates are requested to apply: 

1. Project Coordinator- 1 (One) (70% Field and 30% Office)

Job Description:

The Project Coordinator (PC) plays a key role in executing project activities on the ground, working closely with local government bodies to ensure smooth implementation. The PC is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating all project components, ensuring that objectives are met within the designated timelines and budget. This role requires strong coordination with team members, stakeholders, and other relevant parties to achieve successful project outcomes. The PC will monitor and track the progress of activities, ensuring they align with the project plan. Additionally, the PC is tasked with preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and final reports in a timely manner to the appropriate agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of project activities, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Community Engagement: Mobilize and engage with the Dalit community to promote participation in cultural initiatives and advocacy efforts.

  • Capacity Building: Organize workshops and training sessions for community members and the Dalit Dabab Samuha to enhance advocacy skills and knowledge.

  • Collaboration: Facilitate dialogues between Dalit and non-Dalit communities, religious leaders, and local authorities to foster understanding and inclusivity.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, document outcomes, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders and funding agencies.

  • Resource Management: Manage project resources, including budgeting, procurement of materials for cultural performances, and coordination of events.

  • Devote the time to office-based tasks and to fieldwork.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of five years of experience in project management, preferably in the field of human rights, social justice, or community development.

  • Strong understanding of the issues faced by marginalized communities, particularly in the context of caste discrimination.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience in organizing cultural events or community mobilization activities is an advantage.

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving results.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in Nepali and English, knowledge of local dialects is a plus.

  • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.

2. Finance and Operations Officer – 1 (One) (60% Field and 40% Office)

Job Description:

The Admin and Finance Officer will offer administrative and financial support to ensure seamless project operations and effective implementation. This role involves close collaboration with the project team to manage administrative duties, oversee financial transactions, and ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including office management, procurement, logistics, and record-keeping.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including budget tracking, expense reports, and financial transactions.

  • Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements on time, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and donor requirements.

  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making and project planning.

  • Coordinate with project staff, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and goods.

  • Facilitate travel arrangements and logistical support for project activities, workshops, and events.

  • Assist in preparing and submitting project proposals, grant applications, and donor reports as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and donor regulations related to administration and finance.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. (Preference will be given to a master's degree)

  • At least five years of proven experience in administrative and financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector or with donor-funded projects.

  • Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and accounting software.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements governing financial management and administration.

  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

  • Provide training and support to project staff on financial management and administrative processes.

  • Strong communication skills in Nepali and English; knowledge of local dialects is a plus.

  • Commitment to promoting social justice and equality.

3. Position: Social Mobilizer- 2 (Two) (90% Field and 10% Office)

Job Description:

The Social Mobilizer will play a crucial role in mobilizing community members, promoting cultural initiatives, and advocating for social justice and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Mobilization: Engage and mobilize members of the Musahar, Chamar, Dusad, Dom, Tatba, Dhobi, and Halkhor communities to participate in cultural activities and advocacy efforts.

  • Awareness Raising: Conduct awareness campaigns to educate community members about their rights, caste discrimination, and the importance of social inclusion.

  • Capacity Building: Facilitate workshops and training sessions to empower community members, especially women and youth, in advocacy and leadership skills.

  • Cultural Promotion: Organize and promote traditional cultural performances, such as Jaatjatini and Natuwa dances, to enhance community pride and social cohesion.

  • Dialogue Facilitation: Facilitate dialogues between Dalit and non-Dalit community members, religious leaders, and local authorities to promote understanding and reduce prejudices.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in community mobilization, social work, or a related area, preferably in the non-profit sector.

  • Strong understanding of the issues faced by marginalized communities, particularly regarding caste discrimination.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Nepali and English; knowledge of local dialects is a plus.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
