Loo Niva Child Concern Group Vacancy for District Program Coordinator


VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Loo Niva Child Concern Group is a National Non-Government Organization works to ensure Right to quality education of Children, education governance, child protection and child participation from child rights perspectives to the marginalized children with an emphasis on girls and Dalit since its establishment in 1997. 

Since 2023, Loo Niva is implementing a project "COMMUNIY LEADERSHIP ON EDUCATION AND PROTECTION (CLEAP)" to Nawadurga and Bhageswhar Rural Municipalities in Dadeldhura District. The goal of the project is Strengthened Right to Education and Protection for girls, Dalits, and Children with Disabilities in Nepal with the following outcomes i) Strengthened and functional child protection systems and education management in Dadeldhura District. ii) Children, parents, media, and civil society actors are actively engaged to promote right to education and protection for vulnerable children in Dadeldhura District.; iii) Improved Right to Education through increased enrolment, reduced drop out, improved learning outcomes and inclusion in project Rural Municipalities.

Loo Niva is seeking applications from energetic and self-motivated Nepalese citizens for the following Dadeldhura based position.

DETAILS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position: District Program Coordinator

  • Reports to: Head of the Program

  • Location: Dadeldhura district

  • Duration: One-year fixed contract with possible extension. The contract would be provided after satisfactory performance in a three-month probation period.

  • Work Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Dimensions of Role:

The main job of this post is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling and running programs, coordinating resources for staffs, volunteers and overseeing the entire Loo Niva program in district level. S/he is also responsible for coordinating and delegating responsibilities for whole activities and special events at Field office. S/he works within the guidelines, policies and mission of the organization and will be accountable and responsible for specific projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Project Support for quality implementation 

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in Dadeldhura district.

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.

  • Prepare and present project reports, including updates on progress, challenges, and outcomes.

  • Coordinate with government officials, education sector stakeholders, and local communities to improve gender-responsive approaches in education.

  • Facilitate regular meetings with community members and local government officials to discuss project progress and address any issues.

  • Mobilize the staffs, Youth Volunteers and other related persons in proper implementation of the project.

  • Ensure that children group has clear objective and plan for betterment of educational system and school environment.

  • Develop training outlines and conduct training, workshops as per the need of different stakeholders.

2. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation (M&E) plans to assess the effectiveness and impact of education projects.

  • Coordinate, collect, and analyze data to measure project outcomes and identify areas for improvement.

  • Prepare M&E reports and use findings to inform project planning and decision-making.

  • Oversee the delivery and impact of provincial/district-level project events and local-level Inclusive Working Group meetings.

  • Document all the records of all activities of the project.

3. Supervision, Coordination & Reporting

  • Prepare quarterly project progress reports, in order to provide reports of a high standard in line with agreed content requirements and formats and submit to the Line Manager on time. 

  • Enhance project teams' technical capacity to produce periodic project reports of a quality that meets the project outcomes and ensures proper documentation of key lessons learned and best practices.

  • Play a lead role in the documentation of best practices, innovation, key learning, and major achievements of the projects for institutional memory and knowledge management of the project. 

  • Observe activities of each project, through attending meetings and workshops, visiting events in the provinces, and reviewing staff reports. 

4. Other responsibilities

  • Ensure the necessary standards of safeguarding and child protection practices are in place in Loo Niva project locations and the required procedures for monitoring, referral, and intervention.

  • Support Line Manager on project planning and budgeting. 

  • Support field office on the tasks/responsibilities given by the Line Manager on an ad-hoc/need basis as and when required.

  • Fulfill other appropriate level responsibilities as defined by the Project.

  • Examine and approve requests for advancing or disbursing program funds at district level.

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Education, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the education sector. 

  • Strong understanding of the education landscape in Nepal, including challenges and opportunities.

  • Strong understanding of gender-responsive education and inclusive teaching practices.

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and community mobilization.

  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, implementing, and monitoring projects effectively.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in monitoring and evaluation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project related software.

  • Fluency in English and Nepali (both written and spoken).
