RUWDUC, established in 1995 with the objective of empowering and uplifting disadvantaged women, adolescents and children believes that every human being has an inherent right to a healthy life, equal opportunities to education, employment, quality health care, and access to justice, and to live a violence-free and peaceful life, devoid from all forms of discrimination. RUWDUC is implementing Trans-Boundary Rivers of South Asia (TROSA)-II Project in partnership with OXFAM in Nepal for providing benefits to community by improving livelihoods of Mahakali River basin communities in Dadeldhura district. Therefore, RUWDUC is seeking job applications from potential candidates for the following field based job in Dadeldhura District, Bhageshwor Rural Municipality-1, Chudi.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect information from communities and assist project officer and Senior supervisor in Annual Plans of RUWDUC of TROSA-II project planning document.

  • Assist Project Officer and Senior Supervisor in effective planning and implementation of Program Activities.

  • Work in closely and in coordination with communities, Women Empowerment Centers(WECs) and relevant government and non-government stakeholders. 

  • Regularly be in communication with Women Empowerment Centers (WECs), follow up, facilitate, support and motivate them. 

  • Facilitate in training, workshops organized.

  • Report the field updates, progress, event reports and monthly reports to Project Officer and Senior Supervisor.  As well as support Project Officer for preparation of Quarterly report, Case/Success Stories and Water Right stories to document the results/ impacts of TROSA-II interventions. 

  • Must collect information related to water governance issues and follow up the progress made through program interventions in relation to it. 

  • Contribute 100% of her/his working time for TROSA-II with 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM by working TROSA project.

  • Work under close supervision, guidance of Project officer and Senior Supervisor.

  • Must maintain extensive field presence in project areas – of TROSA-II for implementation, follow up and monitoring of the project interventions.

  • Represent RUWDUC in review meetings, municipality Government and stakeholders working in disaster related interventions when required

  • Facilitate the Citizen Scientist Groups in water quality test data compilation and WECs in the lobby meetings with local level government and relevant stakeholders on water quality and governance issues nonetheless not leaving behind the issues of Women and Gender based Violence (GBV)

Requirements/qualification of Social Mobilizer

  • Nepali Citizen

  • At least passed of Proficiency Certificate level

  • Having 1 year of work experience in similar field 

  • Willingness to travel and stay in rural areas

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Local language is preferable

  • Able to coordinate with governmental, non-governmental organization and supporting structures at the local level

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Duration: The probation period will be for 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on the project need and the satisfactory performance of the candidate. This is a field work job based at Chudi village.
