OVERVIEW:

KOSHISH, established in 2008, is a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being in Nepal. Embracing the spirit of "NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US," KOSHISH advocates for the inclusion and meaningful participation of individuals with mental health conditions and psychosocial disabilities. KOSHISH actively engages in community-based mental health programs, awareness campaigns, and advocacy efforts. Our overarching goal is to mainstream mental health within the broader health system and societal domains, such as social protection, education, inclusion, and employment.

Main purpose of this job is to lead Human Resource Department at the organization. The position is responsible for overall managing staff, new recruitment, staff placement, staff development, retention, overall data keeping and coordinating on the overall performance appraisal of the staffs across the organization at all the levels within KOSHISH.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent.

  • Coordinate and manage the full recruitment process, including job postings, screening applications, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies during the recruitment process.

Performance Management:

  • Implement and oversee the performance appraisal process, ensuring fair and accurate evaluations.

  • Monthly staff's timesheets follow up and proper documentation.

  • Work with managers to identify performance gaps and develop improvement plans.

  • Provide guidance and support to supervisor and employees on performance-related issues.

Payroll and Compensation:

  • Monitor staff attendance and verify for the transparent payroll processing.

  • Responsible for the dissemination of monthly salaries.

  • Ensure compensation and benefits are aligned with organizational standards.

HR Administration and Grievance Handling:

  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.

  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies and management.

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in line with organizational goals and legal requirements.

  • Communicate and educate employees about HR policies and procedures.

  • Handle day-to-day HR administrative tasks, such as preparing HR documents, managing employee inquiries, and maintaining HR databases.

  • Assist in organizing company events and activities to promote team building and a positive workplace culture.

Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and regular feedback mechanisms.

  • Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.

  • Develop and implement programs to enhance employee satisfaction and morale.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs for employees.

  • Develop and deliver training sessions on various HR topics, including workplace policies, compliance, and soft skills.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 3 years of experience in HR management including Payroll or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Proactive and self-motivated.
