Vacancy Announcement: 

Right4Children is looking for dynamic, qualified, and experienced individuals for the following positions to be a part of the Right4Children core team.

1. Position: Extracurricular Activities (ECA) Coordinator

Required No.: 1
Duration: 1 year (16th July 2024 – 15th July 2025)
Duty Station: Pokhara
Qualification, Experience and Social Competence: Intermediate or +2 level qualification (bachelor’s degree preferred) in relevant discipline. However, education qualification will not be a bar for those who have good competencies with proven experience. Good knowledge of School Education System of Nepal and familiar with working with children, youth, schools and teachers. Good knowledge of child rights, child protection and safeguarding. Proven experience of teaching instructing children and youth in extra-curricular activities especially in sports, athletics, arts, music, drama etc. (at least two or more activities). Very good communication, coordination, facilitation and community mobilization, teamwork and motivation skills. Good command over English and Nepali languages, both in writing and speaking. Strong learning attitude, open minded, energetic and flexible in time.

Major roles and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a focal person for Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA), make necessary action plans and implement the plans in close coordination with the CFS project team to ensure that extra-curricular activities have been organized and carried out in schools as required.
  • Work in a team with other project staff to manage, coordinate and facilitate ECA in the schools supported by the project.
  • Provide necessary support to the schools in organizing art, sports, dance and drama activities for students on regular basis.
  • Organize art workshops and provide art training to the students’ (Senior and Junior) of the selected schools.

2. Position: Media and Communication Manager

Required No.: 1 – Re-advertisement
First advertisement: 04 May 2024
Duty Station: Pokhara
Deadline: 19 June 2024 only for this position
Qualification, Experience and Social Competence: Bachelor’s degree in communication, Journalism, Media studies or any other relevant discipline; At least 3 years of professional work experience in the field of media and communication, particularly in photo/videography, content development for website, handling websites and social media etc; Excellent oral and written communications skills, including writing and editing, and an ability to work independently. Strong Nepali and English writing skills are crucial.

Major roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop outreach materials to advance the visibility of R4C, its objectives, and projects both to external and internal audiences, according to the organization’s communication policy. This includes (but is not limited to) films, documentaries, success stories, blogs, and other media contents including photo galleries, PSA, short movies etc.
  • In close collaboration with the organization & project teams, maintain the official website page and the social media accounts with timely, relevant, and well-presented information.
  • Gather and prepare engaging contents (photos, videos, and stories) from field visits following the standards and guidelines of the organization.
  • Oversee content development for website and coordinate with R4C’s project teams for regular updates and to ensure organization’s branding requirements.
  • Act as a focal person to carry out media and communication related activities of different projects and of the organization as a whole.

3. Position: Self-defense Instructor

Required No.: 3 (for 3-months, 16 July – 15 October 2024)
Duty Station: Pokhara
Qualification, Experience and Social Competence:
Completion of at least Black belt 1st Dan or an equivalent minimum experience of 1 year as a trainer or instructor in Marshall Art, Taekwondo, Karate, Oshu, Kickboxing, Judo, and specific trainer of self-defense. Dynamic, motivated, and determined. Good instructional and facilitation skills. Good communication (good written and spoken Nepali and English) and teamwork skills. Open to changes and ability to manage complexities. Able to submit a report about th training session on a weekly basis. A two-wheeler driving license with their own vehicle/ motorbike is mandatory.

Major roles and Responsibilities:

  • The instructor will be responsible for carrying out self-defense training such as; sessions on physical and mental defense, awareness of possible harm from social media, recognition of bad touch and good touch, and teaching different preventive techniques of defense including the measure of keep safe during the natural disasters.
  • Instructors should be in charge of all the students during the training session.
  • He/ She will be accountable for the sessions and accidents during the training.
  • The training will take place in the selected schools of the Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality Kaski district.

Salary for all the positions will be based on a proven track record of experience, achievements, and qualifications.
