Position: Project Coordinator

Location: The Project Coordinator is a position based at the FECOFUN, Bhaktapur with 60% field visits at the project intervention areas and works as one of the key members of the Project team.

No of Positions: 1 (One)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Executive director and board of FECOFUN, the Project Coordinator will work on the following tasks for the effective implementation of the project:

  • Ensure development and implementation of project /detail implementation plans and budgets, procurement plans and provide guidance and solutions to problems to ensure smooth, quality implementation of the project activities,
  • Develop schedules for project activities listed in the annual work plans to ensure all activities completed on time; ensure timely and duly management of the project and implementation of all activities,
  • Establish coordination with federal, provincial and local governments and other stakeholders,
  • Establish coordination with Division Forest Office and Sub Division Forest Office,
  • Supports program areas to build strong networks with other NGOs, CSOs and other line agencies working on the natural resource management sector,
  • Provide technical support for preparing and revising the operational plan and constitution of CFUGs,
  • Provide technical guidance to the field staffs for strengthening CFUG’s good governance and creating awareness on forest fire and human wildlife conflict,
  • Take lead role in capacity strengthening of CFUG’s good governance, wildlife crime control, Climate resilience, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) in Natural Resource Management, biodiversity conservation and forest fire,
  • Develop content regarding forest fire and human wildlife conflict and coordinate to install hooding boards at the required places of project intervention areas,
  • Manage project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and required reports,
  • Make regular field visits and deliver training, check the quality and share it with the team.
  • Organize field visits, gather information, and document the best practices, lessons learned, and case studies in coordination with field staffs,
  • Work with project teams to ensure that reports are delivered according to donor contractual requirements, within the agreed timescale and budget,
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and board of FECOFUN.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • At least Master’s degree in relevant areas such as, forestry, environment, climate change and natural resources management with minimum of 5 years of experience,
  • Solid project delivery, implementation, and monitoring skills,
  • Robust knowledge on community forestry, operational plan and constitution of CFUGs, wildlife crime control, biodiversity conservation, climate change, GESI and Natural Resource Management,
  • Proven experience in coordination with governments, CSOs and other stakeholders and the ability to lead and motivate,
  • Proven experience in coordination with Division Forest Office and Sub Division Forest Office,
  • Knowledge on legal instruments relating to forestry, environment, climate change, GESI, wildlife, biodiversity conservation and related field,
  • Effective interpersonal skills and strategic management skills,
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali, as well as excellent report-writing skills,
  • Excellent computer skill on Microsoft Packages,
  • Willing to travel in the field and work in remote areas.
  • One having experience on working at rights-based approach and detailed knowledge on operational plan and Constitution of CFUG will be given a high priority.
