Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)

Main purpose of job:
To carry out effective day to day maintenance work, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, new installation and construction works.
We reserve the right to review, revise or amend the roles and responsibilities from time to time reflecting the changing needs of business.
Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve:
Regular works (60%)
Lead team to do maintenance service request tasks on regular basis to continue the mission’s operations.
Lead to follow the PPM and works for it and meet the deadline as per our yearly planner
Follow FCDO health & safety standard in regular works.
Lead on ad hoc tasks delegated by Technical Works Supervisor (TWS) and provide updates of the progress on the same.
Undertake documentation of PCA, GPSS, etc as per FCDO requirements and guidelines.
Support TWS for report preparation, document verifications or outer ground works.
Develop good understanding and ability to follow all related H&S standards, which include but not limited to electrical safety, fire safety, height safety and confine space safety etc.
Reporting the Supervisor after completion of assigned works.
To lead on installation and test of electrical equipment not limiting to PAT and installation tests.
To lead from electrical aspect in the installation air con, freezer, and other electrical appliances.
To carry out wiring, cabling, installation of electrical panels, telephone, networking, firefighting equipment, and detectors.
To lead in the installation of new machines, gen-set, lighting, and power system.
Support Technical Works Supervisor to scope out the project by collecting data and estimating the new electrical installation works and ad-hoc project assigned.
To carry out support work during the installation of the air-con and home appliances.
Assisting all the trade persons to carry out their new tasks i.e. civil technician, Plumber, Painter, Mason and Carpenter.
To carry out installation of fire safety equipment and home appliances.
Reporting the Supervisor after completion of New installation works.
Schedule/Preventive maintenance works (30%)
Carry out the routine inspection, preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance of electrical appliances & equipment, air con units, solar panel, water heater, and generator set.
To carry out the routine test and inspection of fire safety equipment as per fire safety code.
To carry out the routine inspection, cleaning and preventive maintenance of lighting system, emergency lights and CCTV.
To carry out maintenance and inspection of tools and lifting equipment
To follow the FCDO Health and Safety Policy.
To carry out the routine inspection, cleaning and preventive maintenance of workshop electrical tools and equipment.
Assist to complete the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) works and meet the deadline as per PPM calendar.
Preparing the report of the work and help other colleagues for the same.
Miscellaneous Works (10%)
Operate generator, the filtration plant & swimming pool system for conducting weekend duty
Support on setting up of available AV system as per need for meetings and events.
Lead the ground works to make sure the contractors and other follow H&S policy and standard related to electrical safety in case of events and its preparation.
Carry out on-call responsibilities on a rota basis.
Keep & clean tools and machines in proper position after using it.
Develop your skills in all trades to meet mission’s multi-tasking policies.
Take the responsibility and custody of maintenance stores and procurement as per need.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience
Essential on arrival:
Academic Requirement: SEE/SLC Passed
Professional Requirement: Minimum TSLC or Level 2 in electrical works
Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in relevant field.
Must have 2 wheel vehicle driving license.
Must have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS outlook
Language requirements:
Language: English/Nepali
Level of language required: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience
Desirable:
Working experience with industrial/hospitality sector is preferred.
4 wheel vehicle driving license.
Basic knowledge of telephone, IT, mason, electrical , plumbing and generator.
