ANSAB Vacancy for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator
ANSAB is a civil society organization that has been working for biodiversity conservation and livelihoods improvement across South Asia for three decades. It places community empowerment and economic incentives at the heart of its approach, and has been consistently evolving, consolidating, institutionalizing and advancing the approaches and strategies for the promotion of community-based enterprises and value chains, natural resources management and biodiversity conservation, enabling policy environment and multi-stakeholders.
ANSAB is currently seeking qualified, dynamic and result oriented persons for the following positions for a project entitled "Scaling conservation of Himalayan plants and Fungi through sustainable trade", funded by the UK Government through Darwin Initiative, to be implemented in ten Himalayan districts of Nepal.
POSITION: MEL COORDINATOR
Duty Station: Kathmandu with frequent field visit in the project sites
Duration: 5 years, with six months' probation period

The Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Coordinator will play a lead role in monitoring, evaluation, learning and reporting of the project and will work closely with ANSAB’s management team, project manager and other team members to enhance project effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop MEL framework, plan, SMART indicators, and methodology in collaboration with project team, ensuring alignment with project objectives and activities, logical frameworks, and donor requirements.
Establish data collection (including tools, forms and database preparation) and management system to ensure the timely collection, organization, verification, and analysis of MEL data.
Coordinate to prepare and use of information management tools.
Provide technical guidance and capacity building support to project staff, partners, and stakeholders on MEL methodologies, tools, and processes.
Coordinate and facilitate external evaluations (such as baseline/ midterm/ endline surveys, Social Welfare Council evaluation) to measure the effectiveness, impacts, and results of the project.
Analyse and consolidate MEL data and information, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, including integration into organizational impact tracking system.
Organize and facilitate learning events, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions to disseminate findings, lessons learned, and best practices.
Support project teams in developing and implementing adaptive management strategies based on MEL findings and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree, preferably Ph.D. in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning, preferably in conservation and development projects.
Strong understanding and proven experience in designing and implementing MEL frameworks, including participatory approaches and GESI-sensitive indicators, methodologies and tools for data collection, analysis and reporting.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in statistical analysis software, dashboard and data management tools are desirable.
Fluency in English and Nepali languages— both written and spoken.
