PROJECT OFFICER- WILDLIFE PROGRAMS
Major Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of Head of Wildlife Trade Monitoring, the Project Officer–Wildlife Programs is responsible for the implementation of wildlife conservation and protection activities. This position will be instrumental in advancing our conservation efforts, particularly in combating wildlife trade and safeguarding endangered species. S/he will also be responsible for partnerships with local conservation agencies, governmental bodies, and community-based organizations to ensure effective coordination and collaboration of projects activities. S/he will collaborate closely with the landscape and cross cutting units to align project activities and maximize impact. The position will be based in Kathmandu.
Qualifications: A bachelor's or master’s in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Wildlife Conservation, Protected Area Management, or a related field with at least 3 years of experience with a strong knowledge of species issues especially conservation and protection of species, Human Wildlife Conflict, Wildlife Crime and Community Engagement is required. S/he should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and work independently. The candidate should be willing to travel and work with minimal supervision, both in the field and office.
