Caritas Nepal, a leading non-governmental organization, is seeking applications from eligible Nepali citizens for position of Communication Officer at its head office. The initial contract duration is one year, with the potential for extension based on performance.

Designation: Communication Officer
Location: Dhobighat, Lalitpur, Head Office
Job Purpose: Create communication materials for Caritas Nepal (CN) that support its vision and goals. This encompasses media outreach across various platforms such as print, radio, TV, and online/social media. Contribute to both internal and external communication efforts of Caritas Nepal, collaborating closely with all departments for communication-related tasks.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience or Master’s degree with 2 years of experience in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
Sector Experience: Demonstrated experience in communications within the NGO/INGO sector.
Writing and Editing Skills: Excellent proficiency in writing and editing in both English and Nepali.
Digital Marketing and Social Media: Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and proficiency in managing social media platforms.
Cross-Cultural Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
Innovative Thinking: Creative thinker capable of generating innovative ideas for communication campaigns.
Communication Strategy: Experience in supporting the development and execution of communication strategies and plans.
Content Development: Proficiency in creating various communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, human interest stories, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, and audio- visual content.
Social Media Content Creation: Ability to develop content tailored for social media platforms and other digital communication channels.
Event Organization: Experience in assisting with the organization and promotion of events, workshops, social media campaigns, and other communication activities.
Media Relations: Knowledge of media relations practices, including drafting press releases and monitoring media coverage.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners, build relationships, and work collaboratively.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Audio-Visual Software Proficiency: Skills in using audio-visual software for the development of communication content, including photos and videos.
MS Office Proficiency: Proficiency in using the MS Office package.
Language Proficiency: Proficiency in both written and spoken Nepali and English languages.
